pokémon may not kill but that is in pokémon v pokémon battles. they are fighting animals from our real world now. lions don’t have hit points so who is to say that powerful attacks wouldn’t genuinely kill them. also - pokémon win a battle once their opponent faints, so why does death play into this at all? all this to say pokémon win

someone use the bdg pet hp theory to find out how many hp a lion has

arceus (god pokemon) and mew (ancestor of all living things) could just uncreate lions

okay but in the manga a pokemon does actually die from a pokemon fight. cubone's mom canonically dies due to injuries caused by explosive pokemon in a rocket grunt's team, because the rocket grunt was trying to capture her and she fought back to protect her child.
so pokemon can kill.

also there's canonically pokemon ghosts and pokemon go to the human afterlife but that's a different matter

are we going to do the 'do lions have souls' thing again

why was "can pokemon kill" even a debate like sure they make other pokemon faint but lions arent pokemon
